A 3-Inch Bypass Rotameter is a type of variable area flow meter used to measure the flow rate of liquids or gases in large pipelines, typically for flow indication and control. The “bypass” design incorporates a small rotameter connected in parallel (bypass line) to an orifice plate or primary flow restrictor in the main pipeline. It is especially useful for high flow applications where direct measurement with a full-scale rotameter would be impractical due to size and cost.
